The Bilingual Montessori School (BMS) thrives on the high level of commitment and dedication of all those involved. Alongside the pupils, the learning guides and the support community, the parents are a supporting pillar of the school community. However, parental involvement is not only an indispensable part of our school concept, it also offers the opportunity to play an active role in the school.
Parental involvement can and should be fun, benefits our children, creates a sense of community, creates identification with the school and offers parents the opportunity to make contacts and actively contribute their interests and skills to school life.
- Parental involvement is essential in order to maintain, look after and make the rooms and the children's learning environment appealing
- Parental involvement is useful to relieve the teaching staff of non-technical tasks
- Parent cooperation is essential in order to be able to organize and carry out school events such as the open house and various festivals
- Parental involvement is important in order to avoid having to increase the monthly financial burden, as many tasks are not outsourced to external service providers
- Parental involvement is voluntary and yet the school, with its unique pedagogy, can only function with the participation of parents.
Since the school was founded in the 2009/10 school year, a variety of parent teams have developed, which together form a well-networked system. Each parent team has a team leader who, together with the parent team coordinator, Vassilia Stanziola, plans, organizes and carries out the team's tasks.
In principle, all parents who work on a voluntary or unpaid basis at our school are covered by statutory accident insurance in accordance with Section 2 (2) SGB VII.
